  • Democrats massively outraised Republicans in key Senate races — in several of them by a 2:1 margin.
  • Sen. Jon Tester raised $10.6 million over the quarter compared to $5.3 million for Republican Tim Sheehy, who is personally wealthy and has put $2.5 million into his own campaign.
  • Sen. Sherrod Brown brought in a whopping $12.8 million, while his challenger, businessman Bernie Moreno, raised only $4.4 million.
  • Other good stats for Democrats: Tester has more than three times the cash on hand that Sheehy had at the end of June. And Brown’s massive hauls allowed him to spend a whopping $18 million dollars — 10 times more than Moreno.
  • In Arizona, Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego brought in $10.4 million compared to just $4.3 million for Republican Kari Lake. Gallego has over three times more cash-on-hand ($9.2 million) than Lake ($2.8 million).
  • In Nevada, Democratic Sen. Jacky Rosen raised $7.6 million to Republican Sam Brown’s $4 million.
  • In Michigan, Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin raised three times more ($6.5 million) than former Republican Rep. Mike Rogers ($2 million) […] and had nearly four times the amount of cash on hand.

  • In the second quarter, Senate Democrats continued to display the fundraising prowess that’s powered the party to success in recent cycles.
  • Democrats have also stockpiled large war chests as the campaign season approaches the crucial fall months. Three Democratic senators reported at least $10 million on hand on June 30 – Brown, Tester and Nevada Sen. Jacky Rosen. Several other Democrats also had nearly $10 million in cash, including Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego ($9.4 million), Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin ($9.6 million) and Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey ($8.4 million).
  • Senate Republican hopefuls continued to mix personal contributions into their second-quarter fundraising. Four candidates – Tim Sheehy in Montana, Eric Hovde in Wisconsin, Dave McCormick in Pennsylvania and Bernie Moreno in Ohio – each loaned his campaign at least $1 million during the period. Hovde, a banking executive, has loaned his campaign $13 million since entering the race in February.

  • Senate Democrats in battleground states improved their fundraising from last quarter, even outpacing massive self-funding from their challengers, according to campaign finance reports filed Monday with the Federal Election Commission.
  • Democrats outraised their GOP challengers across the board—even as several candidates continued to self-fund their campaign in the millions.
  • Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin outraised Republican real estate executive Eric Hovde, despite him loaning $5 million to his campaign. Hovde would be one of the richest senators if elected in the fall.
  • Democratic Sens. Bob Casey and Jon Tester […] also held off self-funding opponents, cumulatively raising $24.3 million compared to their challengers’ combined $17.3 million with $4.1 million in candidate loans.
  • Some Republican senators also saw Democratic challengers surpassing them this quarter. In Texas, Rep. Colin Allred outpaced Sen. Ted Cruz, $13.5 million to $7.9 million.
