Today on Tax Day, the Biden Administration announced that the American Rescue Plan which has already delivered checks and shots to Americans, will provide even more direct relief to 39 million American families who will soon receive up to $300 per child in monthly checks.
“When Republicans controlled the Senate, their signature accomplishment was a tax scam giving handouts to their rich and powerful friends — while raising taxes on middle class families and jeopardizing Medicare and Social Security to pay for it.” said DSCC spokesperson Jazmin Vargas. “The contrast between Democrats and Republicans on this issue is perfectly clear: while Senate Democrats are providing tax relief for working families and putting more money back in their pockets, Republicans are only looking out for the wealthy and well-connected.”
The passage of the American Rescue Plan expanded the Child Tax Credit by at least $1000 per child and it will now grant up to $300 a month per child. Half of the newly expanded Child Tax Credit will be delivered to parents in monthly payments from July 2021 to December 2021. Every Republican Senator voted against this plan.
