Statement from DSCC spokesperson Lauren Passalacqua as the Senate impeachment trial resumes today:
“Even before the latest reports, it was inexcusable for Senate Republicans to block testimony from John Bolton and other witnesses. Senators who again refuse to see and hear all of the evidence will be exposed as accomplices to a cover up instead of the impartial jurors they are expected to be.”
Last week, every single Republican Senator voted along party lines to block subpoenas for key documents and for testimony from former National Security Advisor John Bolton, acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, Assistant to the President Robert Blair, and Office of Management and Budget Associate Director of National Security Programs Michael Duffey, despite the fact that bipartisan majorities want to hear from witnesses.
