Ron Johnson Sides With China

Johnson voted against advancing bipartisan Endless Frontier Act which counters China, boosts U.S. innovation and manufacturing

In response to vulnerable Senator Ron Johnson’s votes against advancing the bipartisan Endless Frontier Act which would crack down on Chinese exploitation and boost American manufacturing, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Amanda Sherman released the following statement:

“Johnson was given a choice between allowing U.S. companies and workers to fall behind China in the 21st century, or supporting investments in American jobs and innovation — and self-serving Johnson sided with China. Even a majority of Johnson’s fellow Republicans are backing this bill, and if he runs voters will hold him accountable for protecting China at Wisconsinites expense.”

The Endless Frontier Act — which is being led in the House by Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher (WI-7) — would help level the playing field for American companies and workers and protect America’s global leadership and national security in the 21st century.

  • The bipartisan act would authorize more than $110 billion in investments into research and key technological education and training programs.
  • The final Act will likely include bipartisan bills boosting American manufacturing, pushing back against China’s theft of U.S. intellectual property, and confronting China’s threats to U.S. national security.
