The headline says it all – “Ron Johnson Agrees with Donald Trump.” Yikes.
Yesterday, Buzzfeed reported that Senator Ron Johnson has gone full birther on the issue of Ted Cruz’s citizenship, embracing Donald Trump along the way. During a recent radio show appearance, Johnson said
“I heard Donald Trump say, have Ted Cruz go to the court and get a declaratory judgement, maybe that’s the best way to take care of this and get it out of the way.”
“After months of ‘disappointingly tepid’ and ‘muted’ responses to Trump’s dangerous policy proposals, Ron Johnson is now taking pages directly from Trump’s playbook,” said Lauren Passalacqua, DSCC National Press Secretary. “After spending his term voting 97 percent of the time with Washington Republicans and celebrating votes to deprive thousands of Wisconsin patients of health services, Johnson’s in a tough reelection bid. Still, bear-hugging Donald Trump won’t distract voters from his disastrous record.”
