As Mike Rogers attends the Michigan GOP’s 35th biennial Republican Leadership Conference on Mackinac Island this weekend, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is flying a plane over the island that highlights Michigan Republicans’ “contentious,” “caustic” and “radioactive” primary and “Senate showdown.”
The plane reads “Mike Rogers (R – Deep State)” — a reference to the words used by members of his own party who have attacked Rogers as a “deep state operative” and the “last choice” in Michigan’s Republican Senate primary.
From Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Maeve Coyle: “Michigan Republicans’ chaotic infighting is on full display on Mackinac Island, and whichever Senate candidate emerges from their party infighting will be badly damaged and out of step with the voters that decide Michigan’s general election.”
