*Similar releases will be sent targeting GOP senators in Ohio, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania
Kelly Ayotte has been frantically trying to rewrite her record of voting with special interests at the expense of hard-working New Hampshire families, but apparently the Koch Brothers didn’t get the memo. This week, Tim Phillips, President of Americans for Prosperity – the Koch’s front group – touted their favorite candidates to Politico Pro, and he took extra pains to shower praise on Kelly Ayotte saying that she “had a really good voting record on a lot of pretty tough issues.”
With Ayotte ranking fourth on the top 10 most vulnerable senators list, the Koch brothers are making clear they are all in to try to bail her out and save her career. David Koch even personally hosted a fundraiser for her last month. It’s no surprise the Kochs want to keep Ayotte where she is: she’s put their interests ahead of New Hampshire, voting with the Kochs nearly 90 percent of the time.
“The Koch Brothers have found a friend in Kelly Ayotte, whose voted with them nearly 90 percent of the time rather than the people of New Hampshire,” said Lauren Passalacqua, DSCC National Press Secretary. “Unfortunately for Ayotte, no amount of spending by Koch-funded dark money groups will change her record of voting against New Hampshire’s best interests and Granite Staters will remember that on Election Day.”
