KEY VOTE ALERT: Rubio Votes Against Florida Jobs and Infrastructure

In response to Senator Marco Rubio’s vote against the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Amanda Sherman Baity released the following statement:

“Marco Rubio showed, once again, he’s not strong enough to stand up for Floridians. He voted against a plan, backed by both Republicans and Democrats, that creates millions of good-paying American jobs, invests in his state’s roads, bridges, clean water, and high speed internet — and he did it because he’s too weak and too political to set aside his own self-serving agenda. This vote shows Floridians exactly why Rubio can no longer be trusted to represent them in the Senate, and in 2022 voters will hold him accountable.”

Here’s exactly what Rubio voted against for Floridians when he voted no on the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act:

  • $13.1 billion for federal-aid highway apportioned programs;
  • $245 million for bridge replacement and repairs;
  • $2.6 billion to improve public transportation options across the state;
  • $198 million to support the expansion of an EV charging network;
  • At least $100 million to help provide broadband coverage across the state, including providing access to the at least 707,000 Floridians who currently lack it.
