DSCC Statement on Republicans Walking Away From Bipartisan Deal to Help the People of Flint

DSCC Communications Director Sadie Weiner released the following statement after Republicans walked away from bipartisan negotiations over an amendment to help the people of Flint, Michigan:

“The next time Mitch McConnell suggests his majority is working, remember the moment when Republicans could not put aside partisanship long enough to provide desperately needed aid to the people of Flint. Securing this assistance shouldn’t even be a question but the Republicans controlling the Senate have walked away from a bipartisan, good faith effort to do the right thing. This is exactly why we need to restore a Democratic Senate that will focus on fighting for Americans across the country.”
