In response to the vote to open debate on the bipartisan infrastructure deal, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Senator Gary Peters released the following statement:
“Senate Democrats are keeping our promise to grow millions of good-paying jobs here at home by investing in our nation’s roads, highways, bridges, clean drinking water, and high speed internet. Our infrastructure plan will strengthen our economy by helping support small businesses, get more Americans back to work, and ensure our nation can out-compete countries like China that threaten our economy. Senate Democrats have done what Mitch McConnell would not do: bring both parties together to deliver for the American people — and if Republicans oppose this proposal voters will hold them accountable in 2022.”
