In response to Senators Ron Johnson’s vote against funding the government, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Amanda Sherman-Baity issued the following statement:
“If Johnson had his way, he would plunge our government into a shutdown that would undermine Social Security and Medicare benefits and weaken America’s military readiness. As he pushes the agenda of the ultra-wealthy and big corporations that are raising prices on consumers, this vote is the latest demonstration of how totally out of touch Johnson has become with the concerns of hardworking American families – and that’s why voters will hold him accountable in November.”
