In response to Republican Senators Ron Johnson and Marco Rubio tonight voting against bipartisan gun safety legislation, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Amanda Sherman-Baity issued the following statement:
“Tonight’s vote confirms what we already know: Rubio and Johnson care more about their allegiance to the Gun Lobby than taking meaningful, common-sense action to make Americans safer from gun violence. Their self-serving politics have no place in the U.S. Senate – and that’s exactly why voters will reject them in November.”
