In response to Senator Marco Rubio’s vote against opening debate on a bipartisan infrastructure deal, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Amanda Sherman Baity released the following statement:
“When given the opportunity to deliver a bipartisan plan that will grow jobs by investing in Florida’s infrastructure, Marco Rubio refused to even debate the topic––making his wrong priorities crystal clear. Instead of focusing on growing millions of good-paying American jobs, Rubio would rather play petty, political games at Floridians’ expense. Voters will hold Rubio accountable for turning his back on his constituents time and time again.”
As Marco Rubio lines up against investments in good-paying jobs and rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure, new polling shows that an overwhelming majority of Americans support the bipartisan infrastructure package –– including 6 in 10 Republican voters. The bipartisan infrastructure efforts would positively impact communities across Florida by creating millions of good-paying jobs, expanding broadband and helping to rebuild Florida’s roads and bridges.
