The Hill: “Why the GOP has Ducey at the top of its Senate candidate wish list“
In response to the NRSC’s failure to recruit Governor Doug Ducey to run for Senate after Republicans said he was at “the top of their candidate wish list” and would be one of “their strongest potential candidates,” Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson Maeve Coyle issued the following statement:
“Even the most sought after GOP recruits are refusing to run for Senate because they know their party’s vicious primaries and toxic agenda will lead their campaigns to defeat in 2024.”
Republicans’ failure to recruit Ducey follows the NRSC’s ”major blow” in failing to recruit Mike Gallagher earlier this month.
