Today, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is releasing a new television ad in the Michigan Senate race, “Who Needs.”
The spot features a Grand Rapids senior with congestive heart failure, highlighting Mike Rogers’ deep ties with the drug industry and his record of repeatedly voting against letting Medicare negotiate lower prices.
The ad will reach voters on TV starting today as part of the DSCC’s previously announced $79 million advertising plan.
Transcript:
Lonnie: I have congestive heart failure, and it takes a lot of medication to get me through the week, and I could never afford it without my Medicare. Mike Rogers took more money from the drug industry than 95% of the House of Representatives — 95% — and voted against letting Medicare negotiate lower prices four times. Rogers has been a champion for the drug industry, but it’s seniors like me who need a champion.
