DSCC Launches GOPTaxHike.com to Remind Voters That Senate Republicans Want to Raise Your Taxes

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) today is launching a new website, www.GOPTaxHike.com highlighting Senate Republicans’ plan to raise taxes on “over half of Americans” – including seniors and working families.

From Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesperson David Bergstein: “While Senate Democrats are fighting to lower costs, cut taxes and hold big corporations accountable, voters are learning exactly what Republicans will do with a Senate majority, in their own words: raise taxes on Americans, seniors and working families. This website will help voters learn how damaging and expensive Republicans’ tax hikes would be for them, and in 2022 voters will hold every GOP Senate candidate accountable for their party’s toxic agenda.”

The website presents viewers with eight different questions to find out if Republicans want to raise their taxes – for all of which the answer is ‘Yes.’

• Are you an American? YES! Republicans want to raise taxes on over half of all Americans.
• Are you a family with children? YES! Republicans want to raise your taxes by an average of $2,000 a year.
• Are you married and making less than $90,000 filing jointly? YES! Republicans want to raise taxes on 73% of couples making less than $90,000.
• Are you a senior on Social Security? YES! Republicans want to raise taxes on over half of all seniors.
• Do you make less than $40,000? YES! Republicans want to raise taxes on over two-thirds of working Americans making less than $40,000.
• Do you receive ACA cost-sharing reductions for your health insurance? YES! Republicans want to raise taxes on roughly 60% of Americans getting help affording their individual health care plans.
• Do you have a disability? YES! Republicans want to raise taxes on over 80% of Americans with disabilities.
• Are you a full-time student making less than $12,000 a year? YES! Republicans want to raise taxes on over 96% of students filing as independents and making less than $12,000.

The DSCC has also released a five-figure radio ad campaign and a Fact Sheet on Senate Republicans’ plan to spike taxes. Last week, the DSCC unveiled a mobile billboard outside of Senate Republicans’ caucus retreat calling out the GOP’s tax-hike agenda.
