MCCONNELL, DAINES HEAP MORE PRAISE ONTO HAND-PICKED LARRY HOGAN → Punchbowl News reports that Mitch McConnell hailed Larry Hogan as a “fabulous” candidate, while the Baltimore Sun reports that NRSC Chair Sen. Steve Daines, “call[ed] Larry Hogan a ‘maverick’ while GOP megadonors embrace his candidacy,” reminding Marylanders that Larry Hogan would be Republicans’ 51st vote.

CRUZ’S SHADY FUNDRAISING RAISES EYEBROWS IN TEXAS → The San Antonio Current reports that “nearly all the money so far generated by U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s controversial podcast-syndication deal…has gone to directly support his reelection bid,” news that comes after Cruz “faced intense scrutiny over his arrangement with iHeartMedia” for being allegedly “structured to skirt federal campaign contribution laws.”

SCOTT PLAYS HOOKY→ American Journal News reports that Rick Scott repeatedly “missed Senate votes” to spend time with Donald Trump and even “missed Senate votes in May to attend Trump’s hush money trial in New York.”
