U.S. unemployment claims hit a new pandemic low this week, “an encouraging sign that layoffs are slowing on the strength of an improving job market.” The four-week average was also a pandemic low, adding to the “evidence of a strengthening labor market and overall economic recovery.”
As the economy shows “steady signs of recovering,” analysts are crediting the “steady gains” of the strengthening job market with “the progress on Covid, particularly the 3 million or so vaccines being administered every day” –– made possible by Senate Democrats’ passage of President Biden’s American Rescue Plan.
The results of the American Rescue Plan are being felt across the country and “there is more optimism now than at any other point in the pandemic.” Reminder: every single Republican Senator is on the record voting against a plan that is delivering tangible relief across this country and rebuilding our economy.
