As PA GOP Senate Primary Remains In Chaos,DSCC Releasing New Videos On Oz & McCormick

Showtime” highlights how Oz is a Hollywood scam artist only looking out for himself

Has Its Price” details McCormick’s record as a Wall Street insider and outsourcer

With the Pennsylvania GOP Senate primary mired in chaos and now heading into a “bruising legal fight,” today the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is releasing new videos on Mehmet Oz (Showtime) and David McCormick (Has Its Price) highlighting how both candidates have no place representing Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate.

Additionally this morning at 9:00a.m. EST Senator Bob Casey will join Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chair Nancy Patton Mills to hold a virtual press conference highlighting how neither scam artist Mehmet Oz or Wall Street insider David McCormick can be trusted to represent Pennsylvania in the Senate. To participate, please RSVP here.

From DSCC spokesperson Patrick Burgwinkle: “While Republicans remain locked in their never-ending intra-party fight, Democrats are wasting no time in ensuring voters know that neither scam artist Mehmet Oz nor Wall Street insider David McCormick can be trusted to represent Pennsylvania in the Senate. Both Oz and McCormick were already limping out of election night – and the weeks ahead will ensure whichever GOP candidate ultimately emerges will be entering the general election even more badly damaged.”

What To Know About Mehmet Oz:

  • Mehmet Oz is an out of state millionaire. Mehmet Oz is a longtime resident of New Jersey and has no real connection to Pennsylvania or the Commonwealth’s values. Even after he claimed he moved to Pennsylvania, his social media showed him living at his New Jersey mansion.

    • Philadelphia Inquirer: “Oz’s social media still frequently show him at his North Jersey mansion, long after he says he moved to Pennsylvania. More than 20 posts in the last three months alone appear to show him at his Cliffside Park home.”
    • Associated Press: “He “is a longtime resident of Cliffside Park, New Jersey, where his mansion overlooks the Hudson River across from Manhattan.”
  • Even Republicans say Mehmet Oz is a “flip-flopper,” “political tourist” and “Hollywood.”

What To Know About David McCormick:

  • McCormick is a slick Wall Street hedge fund executive who is willing to do or say anything to make a buck or get ahead. The New York Times wrote that he underwent a “MAGA Makeover” during the primary to try and help his political career, and even his former coworkers say he’s a “chameleon who’ll be whatever he needs to be.”
    • Philadelphia Inquirer: “Trump’s smackdown of David McCormick shows the risks for Republicans trying a MAGA makeover.”
    • Bloomberg: “The Bridgewater CEO Who Went Full MAGA.”
    • New York Times: “The Art of the MAGA Makeover.”
  • McCormick got rich outsourcing jobs, laying off workers in Pennsylvania, and cozying up to China. As a corporate executive, McCormick got rich outsourcing jobs and laying off workers in Pittsburgh. He even took Pennsylvania tax dollars and promised to create jobs in Pennsylvania – but his “pledge was never actually realized.” And he has a history of cozying up to  China, even saying “when China succeeds, America succeeds.”
    • Philadelphia Inquirer: “David McCormick’s longtime praise for China and trade could bite his Pa. Senate run.”
    • WESA: “David McCormick’s record on job creation may give false impression to Pennsylvania voters.”
    • American Independent: “GOP Senate candidate denies outsourcing jobs despite bragging about it previously.”
  • McCormick’s hedge fund made millions while ripping off Pennsylvania teachers. While McCormick got richer, his hedge fund ripped off Pennsylvania’s teacher retirement system with “high fees” and “poor returns” – ultimately leading to “higher property taxes” for Pennsylvanians and pay cuts for Pennsylvania teachers. Philadelphia Inquirer: “David McCormick’s longtime praise for China and trade could bite his Pa. Senate run.”
    • PennLive: “Dr. Mehmet Oz opens a new line of attack against Pa. Senate rival David McCormick: Money.”
    • New York Times: “McCormick Faces Scrutiny Over Hedge Fund’s Handling of Teacher Pensions.”
